Hey playtesters, we're back this week with two brand new extra whimsical events for you to check out--we're really interested to hear your feedback on them! We've also got some new VFX and art additions, UI/UX changes, and balance updates. Important note: Steam Cloud saves are now enabled! This is an initial implementation, so please test it out and keep an eye out for any save file issues.

CONTENT

Ancients:

  • Reworked Pael's Claw relic and Gloopy enchantment

Events:

  • Added the following new events

  • Deprecated Orb Glutton event

BALANCE

General:

  • Nerfed Ascension 8: no longer affects potions

Enemies:

  • Nerfed Queen combat:
  • Torchhead Amalgam no longer has the Protector power
  • Torchhead Amalgam HP decreased from 213(231) -> 199(211)
  • Added new move for Queen's enraged state: Execution - "Deal 35 damage. Next move is Enrage."
  • Cards afflicted with Bound can no longer be autoplayed (via Sly or other means) after another Bound card has been played that turn
  • Buffed Infested Guardian: Guard move changed -> Enlarging Strike - "Deal 6(7) damage. Gain 1 Strength."
  • Buffed Knowledge Demon:
  • Have A Taste move damage increased from 7(8)x2 -> 8(9)x2
  • Now also hits for 11(13) on the turn it buffs and heals
  • Slap moved damage from 13(15) -> 17(19)
  • Gluttony bane reworked -> "At the start of your turn, Exhaust the top 3 cards of your Draw Pile."
  • Inevitability bane reworked -> "Whenever you play a card, lose 1 HP."
  • Waste Away bane reworked -> "Gain 1 less [E] a turn."
  • Nerfed Sludge Spinner: HP decreased from 41(43)-45(47) -> 39(41)-42(44)

Events:

  • Changed War Historian Repy event: Chest reward is now 2 random potions and 2 random relics

ART

  • Added VFX for Bouncing Flask card
  • Added starry impact VFX
  • Added potion throwing VFX
  • Added Gremlin Merc and Fat Gremlin animations
  • Added art for new Debt curse card
  • Added new Bing Bong relic art to Doll Room event
  • Updated art for the following events:
  • Doors of Light and Dark
  • Spiraling Whirlpool
  • Removed foggy VFX from Wellspring event

USER INTERFACE & EXPERIENCE

  • Added Steam Cloud save functionality
  • Removed Slow Mode from Settings
  • Added transparent background to Ascension picker
  • Continue panel in main menu now has chamfered corners
  • Updated sort order of elements in Reward screens to be gold -> potion -> card -> relic -> special
  • Peek button is much more obvious when it's blocking play
  • Left clicking cards in bundle view screen now brings up card inspection screen
  • Pael's Flesh relic now shows the current turn count so you can tell how long until it starts triggering
  • Room history now has entries for Max HP gained/lost
  • Stolen gold in Gremlin Merc combat is no longer included in Run History if you stole the gold back
  • You can now deselect emojis in the feedback screen
  • Added controller navigation to the Achievements screen

Multiplayer:

  • Lowered the time before a client disconnects when there is no host response

WRITING

  • Doom's hovertip now properly reflects that it triggers at the end of the entire enemy turn, rather than the specific Doomed enemy
  • Updated text for the following events:
  • Wellspring
  • War Historian Repy
  • Welcome to Wongo's

BUG FIXES

General:

  • Big Game Hunter Ascension no longer grants Rare card rewards in all combats
  • Card dragging is now canceled if you open the Pause menu
  • Card Library searchbar now filters by upgraded cards when the View Upgrade toggle is on
  • Cards that Retain your hand this turn (Convergence, etc.) now work properly when auto-played by Mayhem card
  • Fixed image artifacting in backgrounds
  • Decreased text overflow limit for run history card entries
  • Fixed controller navigation for scrolling between run histories
  • Fixed controller navigation not focusing on relic when opening treasure chest
  • In-game Relic Collection no longer breaks after you play a card
  • Long dates are no longer cut off in the Daily screen
  • Deck no longer shows zero cards after picking cards for Sealed Deck modifier
  • Sealed Deck/Draft modifiers still add Ascender's Bane to deck
  • Windows taskbar should no longer show up when in fullscreen

Silent:

  • Precise Cut card no longer visually appears to deal negative damage when you have 7 or more cards in your hand

Regent:

  • Polish card is no longer triggered by auto-played cards

Potions & Relics:

  • Amethyst Aubergine relic no longer creates a reward after the final boss
  • Fresnel Lens relic now applies Nimble to Bone Shards card
  • Lasting Candy relic no longer triggers in the combat it was obtained in

Enemies:

  • Fixed the Doormaker combat so that the Doormaker now attacks before the Door
  • Fixed the Obscuras missing animation when it applies strength

Events:

  • Removed Transform tooltip from Bloody Ink option in Waterlogged Scriptorium event

Multiplayer:

  • Fixed Multiplayer run histories not highlighting the correct map node where a card was required
  • Fixed softlock when dying to cards in the play pile
  • You no longer softlock if a player disconnects while transitioning to another room

PERFORMANCE

  • Applied VRAM Compression to a handful of VFX assets (they should be texture packed later anyways)
  • Decreased the event background asset size from 4k to 1440p
