Happy holidays! This is likely our last major patch of the year (unless we seriously broke stuff)

We have significant changes to the bosses: Doormaker and Knowledge Demon while also bringing in changes and tweaks for various content, notably for events.

You may notice that the game is slightly kinder during the holidays, as several relics have gotten their drop rules updated. Many cards now have updated names as we gear up the content for translation while ancient dialogues get a small clean up. The Timeline's getting some unlock changes soon... in preparation, there's bugfixes, cleanup, and simplification this patch.

CONTENT

Enemies:

  • Reworked the Doormaker
  • Reworked the Queen
  • Reworked Knowledge Demon banes with variable Disintegration damage

Events:

  • Reworked the Reflections

  • Deprecated Violent Heroes 2

Relics:

  • Deprecated the Ink Bottle
  • Added list of relics that should no longer spawn at the Act 3 Treasure Chest or later

BALANCE

Necrobinder:

  • Nerfed Death March card: scaling decreased from 4(6) -> 3(4)

Defect:

  • Changed Hailstorm card: Frost orb requirement decreased from 3 -> 2, damage nerfed from 12(15) -> 6(8)
  • Nerfed Junk Ball card: damage decreased from 8(11) -> 7(10)

Regent:

  • Changed Neutron Aegis card: star cost lowered from 8 -> 5, plating lowered from 15(20) -> 8(11)
  • Buffed Spoils of Battle card: Forge improved from 5(8) -> 6(9)
  • Changed Refine Blade card: upgrade changed from +5 Forge -> +1 Forge and +1 Energy next turn

Silent:

  • Buffed Echoing Slash card: damage increased from 9(12) -> 10(13)

Ironclad:

  • Changed Stampede card: upgrade changed from +1 card play -> -1 cost
  • Changed Ironclad Inflame bundle: Stomp replaced with Twin Strike
  • Nerfed Crimson Mantle card: block decreased from 8(11) -> 8(10)

Potions & Relics:

  • Nerfed Matchbox relic: energy decreased from 5 -> 4
  • Buffed Miniature Cannon relic: bonus damage increased from 2 -> 3
  • Changed Top Hat relic: rarity changed from Rare -> Uncommon
  • Reworked Lost Wisp relic: "Whenever you play a Power, deal 9 damage to ALL enemies."
  • Reworked Royal Stamp relic: now gives Innate and Retain instead of prior effect
  • Changed Book Repair Knife and Master's Teachings relics: swapped rarity
  • Changed Perfect Fit enchantment: no longer also counts as Innate, not counting the initial deck shuffle at the start of combat

Enemies:

  • Nerfed Battleworn Dummy: HP values lowered at all settings
  • Tweaked Bowlbug moveset and damage values
  • Buffed Chompers: clamp damage increased from 7(8)x2 -> 8(9)x2
  • Buffed Exoskeletons: minor HP buff
  • Nerfed Frog Knight: HP decreased from 200(210) -> 191(199)
  • Tweaked Globe Head moveset order
  • Tweaked Infested Boss: nerfs and tweaks
  • Buffed Knowledge Demon: Disintegration damage increased from 5 -> 6, minor damage buff
  • Nerfed Living Shield: no longer puts block on himself
  • Tweaked Louse Progenitor: slight rework of moveset and values
  • Tweaked Ovicopter encounter moveset
  • Nerfed Owl Magistrate: HP decreased from 295(299) -> 234(243), moveset tweaks
  • Nerfed Phantasmal Gardener: Strength 3(4) -> 2(3), BiteDamage 6(6) -> 5(5), LashDamage 8(9) -> 7(7)
  • Tweaked Spiny Toad moveset
  • Nerfed Thieving Hopper: no longer gains Block
  • Nerfed The Lost and Forgotten fight: minor HP and damage nerfs
  • Swapped Construct Menagerie with Devoted Sculptor in enemy pools: Menagerie is no longer a Weak fight, Sculptor is now a Weak fight

Events:

  • Changed Abyssal Baths event "Linger" option: altered damage scaling, now starts at 3 HP loss and scales up by +1 damage each time you linger instead of random
  • Changed Doll Room event "Examine Each" option: HP cost raised from 10 -> 15
  • Changed Endless Conveyor event "Feeding Frenzy" option: now always appears every 5th time you use the conveyor belt instead of randomly appearing
  • Changed Fake Merchant: now drops any unpurchased relics he was selling when defeated
  • Changed Grave of the Forgotten event
  • Changed Hungry For Mushrooms event "Fragrant" option: random upgrades decreased from 5 -> 3, HP cost decreased from 30% HP -> 20% HP
  • Deprecated Hungry For Mushrooms event "Medley" option
  • Changed Infested Automaton event:
- "Study" option changed to "Obtain a random upgraded Power."

- "Touch the core" option changed to "Obtain a random upgraded 0 cost card."

  • Changed Lost Wisp event:
- "Search the Nearby Area" option: gold value lowered from 70 -> 60, now randomizes +-15

- "Capture the Wisp" option: now adds a Decay to your Deck instead of costing max HP

  • Changed Luminous Choir event "Offer Tribute" option: cost increased by a random number from 1-50
  • Changed Morphic Grove event "Loner" option: changed from "Remove a card" -> "Gain 5 max HP."
  • Changed Punch Off event "I Can Take Them" fight: punch constructs now start with some missing HP (1-6 less current HP each) to represent that they have been fighting
  • Changed Sapphire Seed event "Consume" option: healing lowered from 10 -> 9 HP
  • Changed Spirit Grafter event:
- "Let It In" option: heal increased from 20 -> 25 HP

- "Approach" option: no longer costs max HP to choose

  • Reworked Spore Mind event curse into a 1 cost curse with Exhaust and no other text
  • Changed Sunken Treasury event "Second Chest" option: now has gold randomization of +-30
  • Changed Symbiote event "Approach" option: no longer costs max HP to choose
  • Changed Tablet of Truth event "Smash" option: healing lowered from 25 -> 20
  • Changed This or That event "This" option: HP changed from 9HP -> 6HP, gold randomized from 60 -> 41-68
  • Changed Trash Heap event "Dive In" option: HP cost lowered from 10 -> 8
  • Changed Unrest Site event: Spawn requirement changed from 55% max HP -> 70% max HP or lower
  • Changed Waterlogged Scriptorium event "Prickly Sponge" option: changed to "Pay 155 Gold. Enchant 2 cards with Steady."
  • Changed Welcome to Wongos event:
- "Bargain Bin" cost increased to 100 Gold

- "Featured Item" moved from the third to the second option

- "Mystery Box" moved from the second to the third option, cost increased to 300 Gold, now obtains 3 random relics instead of 2

  • Changed Whispering Hollow event:
- "Exchange Gold" option: cost increased from 40 -> 50

- "Hug the Tree" option: HP cost lowered from 10 -> 9

  • Changed Tea Party event: You can no longer Bow Out, increased HP cost to fight Wyatt by 1

ART

  • Added Nemesis epoch art
  • Added Owl Magistrate peck animation to Bestiary
  • Added beta card art for Demonic Shield, Energy Surge, Fuel, Glimpse Beyond, Hammer Time, Ignition, Largesse, Legion of Bone, Shiv of Ink, Shadow Shield
  • Egg Bowlbug now uses animations when blocking
  • Nectar Bowlbug now uses cast animation
  • Globe Head now uses cast animation
  • Fixed broken Lagavulin Matriarch outline

USER INTERFACE & EXPERIENCE

  • Free card effects no longer make X-cost cards free
  • Hovertips for Discovered Items in game over screen now show item names when list is small
  • Epochs are sorted by era so the gold previous and next buttons work
  • While you have epochs to reveal you cannot start a new run
  • Map drawing icons are slightly brighter when inactive and colored when hovered/active
  • Mouse wheel can navigate Timeline left and right now
  • Removed zooming logic and controls info from Timeline
  • Removed Timeline screen header
  • Updated hover and truncation behavior for run history screen cards

BUG FIXES

General:

  • Ascender's Scorn now highlights Neow node when hovered in run history
  • Cloned cards no longer retain Resonance replay permanently
  • Colorless card effects no longer incorrectly trigger on non-colorless Event cards
  • Fixed buttons getting too dim when accessing map drawing tools via their hotkeys
  • Fixed card text exceeding bounds due to incorrect vertical size check
  • Fixed dialogue not wrapping properly for Ancient dialogue
  • Fixed issue where speaker icon may peek through slightly for multi dialogues with the Ancient
  • Fixed softlock when you save and continue after the choice in Neow
  • Main menu no longer shows black screen after returning from a completed run
  • Prevent hand overflow race condition
  • Rarity filters in card compendium now work when Ancient/Misc pools are also selected
  • Scaled enemies no longer clip out of bounds when dying to Doom
  • Scaling values on cards no longer affected by Weak/Vulnerable
  • Character story chapters now sorted chronologically

Defect:

  • Lightning Rod no longer loses evoked Frost Orb block at start of turn

Necrobinder:

  • Gunk Up no longer animates Slimed twice
  • Severance now shows the correct number of souls
  • Trash To Treasure and Refactor now only trigger on statuses you create

Ironclad:

  • Power Through no longer animates Wounds twice
  • Retractable Claws now preserves upgrades and enchantments when transforming to Mauls

Colorless:

  • Sic'Em Power triggers Summon when Osty hits the target

Enemies:

  • Fabricator now correctly only summons aggressive bots when doing his attack + single bot summon move
