Hey playtesters, got another patch for ya! And it's a doozy. First of all... THE NECROBINDER REWORK IS HERE!! No more swapping! Necro's HP is now a fraction of what it was but, at the end of combat, she heals completely AND revives Osty if he's dead! Another big change to her kit is she can now sacrifice her own HP to boost Osty in various ways through cards. We're very interested in hearing your thoughts on her new playstyle!! 💀 ✨

Other notable changes are that this is the first Godot build with music and SFX (wooo!) and the Regent's Gravity mechanic has started to be phased out (still a WIP!)

Also, one of the bugs we've been tracking is a particular kind of softlock. We've seen it a couple of times but it's particularly tricky to reproduce. Unlike other softlocks, the common symptom of this one:

  • you can't hover or /play cards in your hand (even for tooltips).
  • you can still technically hit End Turn and the combat progresses (though obviously you are stuck because you can't play cards)

So far we're calling this bug the hand lock (or hand cramp). If you see it, please file it as such with as much info as you can. Happy slaying!

Necrobinder:

  • Necrobinder now starts with two relics: Osty's Devotion and Bound Phylactery
- Bound Phylactery: "At the end of combat, heal ALL HP. If Osty is dead, revive him with 1 HP."

- Osty's Devotion: now "All enemy Attacks and Debuffs target Osty. All Block is gained by Osty."

- Peck+ now increases the number of hits by 1 instead of increasing damage

Relics:

  • Neow's Note nerfed: Shop price reduction decreased from 75% -> 50%

Enemies:

  • Ceremonial Beast will now also inflict 3 Dazed on its Plow turn if not stunned!
  • Crossbow Ruby Raider now starts reloading instead of firing on turn 1 of combat
  • Furry Worm Crawler strength gain when inhaling increased from 1 -> 3
  • Medium slimes always apply status cards on turn 1 instead of attacking
  • Workerbug (Rock) will now be the ONLY Workerbug type first encountered in a battle
  • In Roach combat, now only one Roach attacks on turn 1 instead of both

Events:

  • Self Help Book choices changed:
- Master of Strategy HP cost increased from 10% -> 20% of max HP

- Sharp HP cost increased from 2 -> 3

- Nimble HP cost increased from 3 -> 4

Misc:

  • Corrupted enchantment nerfed:
- HP loss increased from 2 -> 3

- Damage decreased from +100% -> +50%.

ART:
  • Added Regent rest site animations
  • Flame glow on character now disappears once rest site option is selected
UI & EFFECTS:
  • Added star tokens to the bottom of cards to denote rarity
  • Osty's health now appears in the top bar when playing as the Necrobinder
  • Audio is back!
BUGFIXES:

Characters:

  • Multihit on killing Osty no longer breaks his animations

Cards:

  • Anger and Leading Strike no longer generate their cards if combat is finished
  • Camaraderie is now correctly classified as an Attack
  • Claw damage is no longer reset when Magi Knight downgrades it
  • Drain Life card now has Vigor tooltip
  • Fixed Reprogram being named Defragment
  • Fixed Rant and Rave being called Radiate
  • Fixed Free and Unrelenting affecting card costs in reward screens
  • Genetic Algorithm block is no longer reset when Magi Knight downgrades it
  • Headbutt now puts cards at top of draw pile instead of bottom
  • Heatsinks+ no longer draws a card when it's played
  • Reanimate cost fixed from 3->2

Relics:

  • Runic Pyramid now visually clears Bound card condition at end of turn
  • Bound Phylactery now heals Osty to 1 HP if he is dead
  • Ink Bottle and Pen Nib now increment correctly when the last card ends combat
  • Removed unnecessary Dexterity hovertip on Ember Tea relic

Enemies:

  • Egg Layer combat now has expected enemy turn order
  • Fixed softlock between Decemillipede segments dying from poison
  • Gave Heavy Barricade the Sleep intent
  • Fixed swarm of Slimes combat from 6 -> 5 slimes
  • Fixed Slumbering Beetle’s slumber: now properly procs on Lightning orb and doesn’t proc on blocked damage
  • Updated Burrowed power to match new behavior

Events:

  • Gold-colored text in event descriptions now displays properly
  • The "Continue" button on the Hungry for Mushrooms event now displays properly
  • Fixed softlock on events that give you curses when you have Undulating Mass

Misc:

  • Aggression no longer gives you Strength
  • Dampen no longer procs incorrectly at end of the player turn
