BALANCE

Defect:

  • Buffed Bitflip card: cost decreased from 2 -> 1
  • Nerfed Boost Away card:
  • Dazed now added into Draw Pile instead of Discard
  • Upgrade bonus Block decreased from +4 -> +3
  • Reworked Overwhelm:
  • Is now based on Powers played throughout the whole combat
  • As a result, damage decreased from 14(18) -> 7(9)

Potions & Relics:

  • Deprecated Bird Faced Urn relic

Enemies:

  • Changed Clam: No longer has a permutation where it is accompanied by two rats
  • Reworked Knowledge Demon:
  • Mind Rot now deals damage on play instead of giving Knowledge Demon Strength
  • Strength gain move now scales for one additional strength at high ascension
  • Buffed Mad Crab: HP increased from 90(94)-95(99) -> 94(96)-97(99)
  • Buffed Soul Fysh: Scream damage from 10(11) -> 13(14)
  • Buffed Mad Crab: Inertia power's Block increased from 11 -> 15
  • Nerfed Phantasmal Gardeners:
  • Skittish Block decreased from 5 -> 4
  • Heal decreased from 6 -> 5
  • Buffed Waterfall Giant:
  • Pressure Gun damage increased from 15(18) -> 20(23)
  • Stomp damage increased from 7(8) -> 12(13)
  • Changed The Kin: followers now always start with different moves

General:

  • The choice between Overgrowth and Underdocks for Act 1 is now always randomized

ART

  • Rescaled player character textures
  • Added beta art for various powers, enchantments, and relics
  • Updated Darv and Orobas Ancient background art
  • Shrunk Neow, Pael, and Tezcatara Ancient background assets
  • Added portrait art for Splash, Bone Shard, Devour Life, Pull From Below, Severance cards
  • Updated card title from Bone Shard -> Bone Shards
  • Made Flyconid bigger
  • Made the Defect smaller

USER INTERFACE & EXPERIENCE

Silent:

  • Updated how Poison appears on healthbar

Defect:

  • FTL card now glows when it can draw a card

Necrobinder:

  • Adjusted Doom healthbar size

Potions & Relics:

  • Almost all relics now count down from their value rather than count up (except Girya and Sword of Stone. Let us know how this feels!)
  • Added event potions to Potion Lab

Events:

  • Reward-modifying relics now flash over Brainbug and Room Full of Cheese selection prompts
  • Added VFX and damage number when you take damage at events

General:

  • Cards, potions, and relics that are added to your inventory are now added to the Compendium
  • Frozen affliction amount is now shown on card
  • Pressing a pile hotkey (e.g. A for draw) now closes the draw pile if it's already open
  • Statistics screen now shows when you unlocked the achievement
  • Added a small Enchantment VFX
  • Compendium updates a cards "seen" status mid run
  • Run timer now appears while you are looking at your deck
  • Assigned hotkeys via editor for Abandon Run confirmation popup
  • Added effects for Abandon Run confirmation buttons & popup
  • Cards added to hand are spawned at the hand rather than the center of screen
  • Death screen transition is slightly less fancy: no more mask & death quote is rendered slightly smaller
  • Hovering over any locked Epoch now shows you how to get it
  • Combined Relic Collection, Potion Lab, and Card Library Epochs into one
  • Kreon Bold and Regular fonts have been cleaned up in fontforge to remove text rendering artifacts
  • Added shadows to Relic inspection screen and updated assets
  • Simplified fade in out logic for blur and backstops in main menu
  • Improved patch notes screen button interactivity
  • Strength Down and Dexterity Down debuffs no longer make player character shake
  • Added stub button press visuals for Share button

Multiplayer:

  • Remote players' orbs now trigger much faster
  • Adjusted multiplayer character panel
  • Matched Disconnect confirmation popup to the updated Abandon Climb confirmation popup

WORDING

  • Debuffs that cannot be negated now include a note in their hovertips
  • Mad Crab's Hardened Shell power worded such that it cannot lose more than X amount of HP each turn
  • Colossus card now specifies that it only reduces damage for the player who played it
  • Reaper Form card now properly states that enemies take damage instead of losing HP

BUG FIXES

Defect:

  • Go for the Eyes card now works on Waterfall Giant's Explode move
  • Particle Wall card no longer returns to the player's hand if some effect has added the Exhaust keyword to it
  • Fixed an issue where Recycle card wasn't gaining extra energy when exhausting cards afflicted with Frozen

Necrobinder:

  • Reaper Form card can no longer kill illusions like Parafright

Potions & Relics:

  • Pandora's Box relic now flashes Egg relics over upgraded cards
  • Heart of Iron potion now properly grants 5 Plating instead of 8

Ancients:

  • Fixed an unexpected interaction between Enthralled curse card and effects that set a random card in your hand to free (such as Mummified Hand relic and Touch of Insanity potion). Previously, these effects would look for any card whose current energy cost was above 0, which could be due to a temporary cost-increasing effect like Enthralled. Now, these effects will prefer cards with a base energy cost above 0, and will only consider the modified cost if all cards in hand have a base energy cost of 0
  • Fixed issue preventing Darv from giving energy relics in Act 3

Enemies:

  • Ovicopter's eggs now spawn in with full HP
  • Fixed Entomancer's animation interrupting itself

Events:

  • Player no longer receives reward in The Legends Were True event if they die from choice damage

General:

  • Fixed an issue where killing an enemy on their turn before they performed their move could cause a softlock
  • Cards that are currently being played no longer update their text
  • Enemies' HP bars fade instead of disappear when they die
  • Fixed issue where healthbar abruptly disappears when creatures die
  • Intents can no longer change while they're being performed
  • X-cost cards' energy cost text now remains white, even if they were generated by an effect like Discovery that modifies the card's cost

Multiplayer:

  • Mad Crab's Hardened Shell power now scales up in multiplayer
  • Fixed issue where players sometimes wouldn't see the game over screen
  • You can no longer use potions while you are dead
  • Mecha Knight no longer gives dead players Burn status cards

PERFORMANCE

  • Resized popup Yes/No buttons to 1440p
